Sustainable production of biological silk fabrics

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the highest standard for biological textile fibers, and it is supported internationally by some of the most important organizations for the sponsorship of biological agriculture in the world: Organic Trade Association, IVN, Japanese Organic Cotton Association and Soil Association.

Not only does the GOTS verify the compliance of the whole fashion supply chain with the biological production requirements (this includes cultivations, dyeing process, weaving, printing, finishing, labeling and marketing), but it also assesses the respect during the whole production process of the environmental and social requirements. This is very important in order to ensure the customers that the clothes are produced without using harmful chemicals, as well as in ethically sustainable working conditions.
